Prizes
The Paint the Plane contest was designed to celebrate creativity, education and the magic of exploring new places and experiences. So with that in mind, let’s get on to the prizes!
Honorable Mention
Cash scholarships will go to students at every grade level, including $5,000 to the Grand Prize winner, and $1,000 each to the Second and Third Place winners and the 10 Honorable Mentions. Alaska believes that encouraging academic excellence is key to the future success of our communities, so we're proud to support Hawai'i's keiki and the educational goals of Hawai'i's schools.
Second and Third Prize
Second and Third Place will each win a trip for four to any destination where Alaska Airlines flies. That’s a lot of places to choose from, and a lot of places to explore. It never hurts to plan ahead, so why not dream of some of the destinations you’d like to visit?
Grand Prize
And our Grand Prize winner gets the whole shebang! Not only will they see their “Spirit of the Islands” design take to the air, painted on an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737, the Grand Prize also includes a trip for four to any Alaska Airlines destination and a $5,000 scholarship. It’s a true opportunity to travel, explore and learn.
